About EnoughPizza

EnoughPizza answers one question well: how much pizza do I need? It’s for anyone ordering for a group, from a kid’s birthday to a 100-person office lunch, and it works the answer out while you tap.

How the calculator counts

We start from slices. A grown-up gets 3 (2 for nibblers, 4 if they’re starving) and a kid under 12 gets 2. When there’s other food on the table we count 75% of that, then we add 10% so nobody misses out, and divide by the slices in the size you’re ordering: 6 in a small, 8 in a medium, 8 in a large, 12 in an extra-large. Every page on the site uses the same math, so the answer at the top of how many pizzas for 20 people is exactly what the calculator shows.

These are our starting assumptions, not rules about how much people eat. That’s why every one of them is a button you can change.

Where our numbers come from

Chain slice counts come from each chain’s own website, and every chain page says when we checked it. If a chain doesn’t publish a number, we don’t guess one. Catering costs, portions and tipping guidance come from named sources, such as catering marketplaces’ order data and etiquette guides, linked where we use them. Our guide to slices in a large pizza is a good place to start.

Who we are

EnoughPizza is published by Northwoods Ventures LLC. The site is free and supported by ads. We may also earn a commission from some catering links, which never changes what the calculator says.
